Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero 2022 Movie – Storyline :

The Red Ribbon Army from Goku’s past has returned with two new androids to challenge him and his friends.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022 Japanese computer-animated martial arts fantasy/adventure film directed by Tetsuro Kodama and produced by Toei Animation under Akira Toriyama’s direct supervision is the twenty-first feature film overall and first to primarily utilize 3D animation; featuring Piccolo as leader against Gohan and their mission to save Earth from Red Ribbon Army’s reign of terror. The plot revolves around Piccolo’s and Gohan’s mission against Red Ribbon Army’s newly reformed Red Ribbon Army forces; they work alongside Piccolo while Piccolo battle them against them both.

Review of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022 Movie):

Dragon Ball fans will love how well the movie delivers an action-packed slice-of-life experience combined with amazing fight scenes. Walking out feeling thoroughly satisfied not only by the plot and fight scenes but also animation which many were initially skeptical about. Fight scenes proved very good this time round with choreography lighting camera movements being spot on (even getting chills during the third act!) Honestly, I got chills several times during the third act (it could just have been due to AC in theaters!).

Finally, let me touch upon the characters: If you expect some Goku and Vegeta action in this film, however, you might be let down; I found their roles to be minimal at best – yet still loved them immensely. Gohan and Piccolo truly deserved more recognition in Dragon Ball Super manga; so the movie surely gave them their due by giving them more screen time again. Androids appeared silly in posters, yet proved immensely enjoyable to watch (they almost made me cry at one point!). Pan is simply adorable! She might just be my favorite kid character since young Goku himself; more of Pan would certainly please me and hopefully, Yamcha and Tienshinhan (particularly Yamcha!) will receive more focus in future films as well.

All in all, if you are a Dragon Ball fan, I think you will have a good time with this film (if you can tolerate the CG animation or don’t overthink the plot).
