Elena travels from Brazil to New York with the dream of following in her mother’s footsteps and becoming an actress, leaving behind a childhood spent hiding during the military dictatorship. When Elena departs she leaves behind seven-year-old Petra as well. Two decades later Petra becomes an actress as well and travels in search of Elena using only limited clues like home movies, newspaper clippings, diary writing, and letters; but still hoping one day Elena may appear wearing a silk blouse – but when we eventually come face-to-face again Petra must learn to let her go in order for it not to become too personal a reunion to succeed in reconciling relationship or we may no longer know either sister apart; when Petra finally does find Elena somewhere unexpected it must learn to let go so as not become emotionally invested emotionally attached if it could ever again before being let down emotionally by abandonment or loss from other relatives, we may never again know who the other can.
