Elizabeth Halsey is an immoral English teacher at John Adams Middle School (JAMS) in Cook County, Illinois. She’s foul-mouthed and greedy; drinking heavily while smoking marijuana; sleeping during class while showing movies from home. Elizabeth plans on leaving teaching altogether so she could marry rich fiance Mark but after finding out they only cared about his money she must resume working again instead of quitting teaching altogether. Elizabeth pursues substitute teacher Scott Delacorte whose family runs a watch company; Amy Squirrel pursues Scott; while Russell Gettis makes clear he wants something more personal with Elizabeth, Amy Squirrel remains a committed and enthusiastic colleague while at JAMS she makes clear she only cares for Scott over other teachers!
