Beast 2022 Movie – Storyline :

A father and his two teenage daughters find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the Savanna has but one apex predator.

Dr. Nate Samuels and his teenage daughters Meredith and Norah arrive at Mopani Reserve in South Africa for a vacation, only recently widowed Dr. Samuels is met by longtime acquaintance Martin Battles (biologist/manager at Mopani), who first introduced Nate and his wife together. Martin takes them all back to where Nate grew up as well as shows them around his village where his wife lived as well as offers counseling about guilt for being distant since her separation which resulted in a terminal cancer diagnosis as part of this trip intended to reconnect with both daughters.

On Day Two of their tour through the restricted areas, Martin takes his family on a tour. Martin shows them a local lion pride where one member has been injured; at a nearby Tsonga community where most residents had died due to suspected attacks by a rogue lion; suspecting this as the source for most deaths; Martin quickly returns and reports this finding while Nate comes upon an injured Tsonga man on the road but was unable to assist; Martin himself is mauled as he tracks it but Nate takes cover while Meredith speeds away but crashes into a tree leaving Martin and Meredith behind in its tracks stranding both.

Martin radioed Nate with his warning of how the lion is using him as bait to lure out others from civilization, however as they were out of range of calling help via their walkie-talkie, Nate assembled a tranquilizer rifle. When confronted by the lion he attempted to subdue it enough that Meredith and Norah could rescue Martin before using Meredith to distract the animal causing its attack and withdraw back into civilization with Meredith in pursuit while Nate fired one round on it which caused it to retreat and caused its retreat back into civilization where Meredith brought Martin back with Meredith while Nate treated his wound. Meredith brought Martin back while Norah used an extended tranquilizer dart shot that caused it retreat which caused it to retreat back into society with Meredith who brought Martin along Meredith brought Martin back with them both taking turns treating his wound Nate while treating his wounded friend Nate for treatment as soon as they could.

Martin believes the lion may have gone feral after poachers killed its pride; after this event occurred, poachers arrived and offered their services, agreeing initially to transport the group back to the village in return for payment. Tensions escalate as poachers discover Martin, an anti-poacher in their car. Lion attacks and scatters them; most are killed; then Nate maneuvers past it and finds their truck keys. Martin temporarily holds off the lion long enough for Meredith and Norah to escape, though Meredith sustains severe lacerations to her side during her efforts. Unfortunately, however, their car plunges down an embankment where Martin sacrifices himself by setting off an explosion from leaking gasoline that destroys their car before racing away with Meredith and Norah as Nate starts up his truck to leave immediately behind them all.

At an abandoned schoolhouse used by poachers for base operations, Nate treated Meredith’s wound before foraging for water. A lion appeared and stalked Meredith and her friends until Nate returned and scared it off with threats of locking his daughters inside a room until subduing the beast he’d lured out with lure. With Martin having helped raise this pride’s local pride nearby watching over it all this happened quickly – in which Nate nearly lost his life before its patriarchs intervened and merci-killed its misguided leader until a Mopani worker arrived and save him after all else happened was done

Nate awakes in the hospital telling his daughters he loves them, before returning together as a family to recreate a photo Nate’s late wife took of herself next to a tree she liked best in their preserve.

Review of Beast (2022 Movie):

“Beast” for the most part is “Cujo.” But with a CGI lion in place of that creepy St Bernard dog. Still, the movie looked good. Especially with Idris Elba at the helm.
