Storyline / PLOT: When his secret bride is executed for assaulting an English soldier who tried to rape her, William Wallace begins a revolt against King Edward I of England. | William Wallace is the medieval Scottish patriot who is spurred into revolt against the English when the love of his life is slaughtered. The film’s title is taken from the name of Wallace’s famous broadsword, and the movie’s final shot is of that sword on the field at Bannockburn.
