Gene Stupnitsky directed “Winter Break,” from a script he co-wrote with John Phillips. Starring Jennifer Lawrence (also an executive producer), who plays a 32-year-old Uber driver who answers an advertisement seeking someone to date a nervous 19-year-old (Andrew Barth Feldman). Laura Benanti, Natalie Morales, and Matthew Broderick co-star.

Jennie Law desperately desires your approval, even going as far as stripping completely nudie during an abusive crotch-punching session. While watching, one might argue we will reach peak equality between genders when women can physically attack one another more equally; here they take it even further…Jen goes completely nudie while championing feminist causes everywhere!

Joking aside, this movie may initially feel dull but will grow on you over time. Jen plays Maddie Barker – an aimless woman surviving off Uber driving and bartending to supplement her income (while having sexual encounters with random town visitors who find her tiresome). There’s more depth behind Maddie living on Mauntauk Island; most hints at its gentrification; when Maddie discovers on Craiglist some rich parents willing to offer cars for sexual encounters between 19-year old son and Maddie that’s when she meets rich parents willing to offer cars in exchange for sexual encounters between a 19-year-old son and Maddie so she can save her childhood home!

Gene Stupinisky understands this movie is outdated. So he balances reality with broad humor to achieve an eclectic blend of gags – some of which work better than others. Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman) doesn’t realize his seduction is to win something, leading him down an unpredictable path with Maddie (Nina Arianda). We discover he isn’t simply reclusive but does possess romantic impulses, giving Maddie second thoughts about taking up Maddie’s fleece plan.
