Spell is a 2020 American supernatural horror thriller film directed by Mark Tonderai and starring Omari Hardwick and Loretta Devine.

Spell 2020 Movie – Storyline :

As Marquis (Omari Hardwick) attempts to fly his family from rural Appalachia for his father’s funeral service in rural Tennessee, an intense storm causes them to lose control of the plane they’re riding in, crashing it. He wakes up injured but alone inside Loretta Devine’s (Loretta Devine) attic where Loretta promises she can nurse him back to health using something called The Boogity made out of blood and skin from him; Marquis desperately tries to free himself while saving his family from an unknown ritual ahead of Blood Moonrise before it.

User Review:
Some people compare Spell with Misery and I get it for the fact that a guy is being held in a bed, with a foot injury, but other than that the comparison just ends. Misery is much better, with so much more suspense and better actors. That said Spell isn’t bad, there is a fair amount of suspense, but the story is just not that believable because of some scenes. A man with his injuries couldn’t do what he did, that’s just a fact, and those kinds of little details bring the quality of a story down. The acting was decent, so no complaints about that. If you’re not too picky about details and just want to enjoy a bit of suspenseful entertainment Spell is worth a watch. It will just never be a classic like Misery though.
