The Wailing 2016 Movie – Storyline :

Police officer Jong-Goo investigates mysterious deaths caused by an unknown illness in the South Korean village of Goksung. Rumor has it that a Japanese stranger living alone in a mountain house might be an evil spirit responsible. Jong-Goo and his partner set off with an attacking guard dog to visit an unfamiliar stranger in South Korea, only to discover an altar with an image of a goat-head, pictures on the walls showing those affected, as well as an altar decorated with pictures depicting dead people who contracted an infectious illness, all protected by an altar bearing images depicting infected people who have since passed. They wait patiently until Jong-Goo arrives before leaving until his visitation of course concludes with the arrival of another stranger at that site. Jong-Goo finds his daughter Hyo-jin’s shoe in the home of an unfamiliar stranger and soon thereafter she falls sick. Jong-Goo’s mother-in-law summons Il-Hwang as an ancient healer to save their granddaughter while an anonymous woman informs Jong-Goo that this stranger may be responsible. Who could possibly be behind Goksung’s illness?
