His plan backfires and his ‘cargo’ finishes up within the Mediterranean.

Review:

“Ibiza Undead” caught me by surprise; being such an avid zombie enthusiast, but somehow this 2016 horror comedy had managed to escape me until just recently when it returned in my Netflix queue. So of course when presented with the opportunity of viewing it again I jumped at it enthusiastically!

“Ibiza Undead” offered the promise of something truly great with its combination of exotic holiday destinations and zombie outbreaks, making for a movie similar to “Shaun of the Dead”. Could such an attempt ever turn into reality?

It quickly establishes itself as a horror comedy aimed at younger party-going audiences – which should come as no surprise given the title!

Like in so many zombie films, we receive no explanation on the progression of infection; but, that seems to be par for the course when dealing with this genre; leaving audiences guessing and in the dark. Of course, what we crave are zombies, not scientific explanations behind their infection! Personally, I cannot comprehend why anyone would keep them around as entertainment staff at a vacation resort; this doesn’t make much sense but then again this movie exists because someone thought to make money out of zombies… But whatever, just enjoy watching!
