Description: The franchise was developed by The Wayans Brothers, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, and Marlon Wayans, who wrote and directed the primary two films, with the latter two also starring. The films were produced by Dimension Films and distributed by two different studios: Miramax Films, and therefore the Weinstein Company. The franchise has received extremely mixed reviews from film critics. the primary and second films have attracted significant cult followings.

Scary Movie (2000)

Scary Movie is that the first film of the franchise. it had been the highest-grossing film of the series, with $278,019,771 worldwide. it’s a spoof of several films and tv shows, with a primary specialise in Scream and that i Know What you probably did.

After a gaggle of teenagers (consisting of Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Bobby Prinze (Jon Abrahams), Buffy Gilmore (Shannon Elizabeth), Greg Phillipe (Lochlyn Munro), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans), and Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall)) accidentally hit a person with their car, they plan to dump his body during a lake and never mention it again. A year later someone wearing a Ghostface mask and robe kills them one by one.

Scary Movie 2 (2001)

Scary Movie 2 is the second film of its franchise. The opening sequence begins as an allegory to The Exorcist; during it, Megan Voorhees (who shares her surname with serial murderer Jason Voorhees in fiction) becomes possessed by Hugh Kane; two priests named Father McFeely and Father Harris (James Woods and Andy Richter respectively) must force Hugh out; unfortunately, Megan insults Father McFeely’s mother so he shoots her in the head before she kills herself.

Cindy, Brenda, Ray, and Shorty all return. However, Greg Buffy and Bobby have been replaced by Buddy (Christopher Masterson), Theo (Kathleen Robertson), and Alex (Tori Spelling).

The film then devolves into an absurdist version of The Haunting when an immoral college professor named Professor Oldman (Tim Curry) and his wheelchair-bound assistant Dwight (David Cross) decide to conduct experiments using clueless teenagers as bait in order to study ghosts within an abandoned mansion deemed haunted.

At the house, strange things begin happening: Ray is attacked by a clown (whom he also rapes); Shorty gets attacked by a living marijuana plant; Cindy fights a possessed cat while Dwight clashes with an annoying bird; eventually upon realizing Professor’s plan they attempt to escape but realize there’s still one ghost living within; in order to be successful they need to defeat this ghost so as to escape successfully.

Scary Movie 3 (2003)

Scary Movie 3 is the third film in its franchise and centers on unusual crop circles discovered near an old farm and consequently released onto videotape for distribution. After viewing, the phone rings with a creepy voice warning: “You are about to die in seven days”. Cindy finds comfort with George (Simon Rex; parodying Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith Jr of 8 Mile), when told her life will end soon enough; in parallel, George and Tom (Charlie Sheen), farmers who discovered these crop circles themselves, learn that extraterrestrial forces will descend to Earth to eliminate killer responsible; to whom George first discovered these crop circles: extraterrestrial forces sent down from another planet!

Scary Movie 4 (2006)

Scary Movie 4 marks the fourth film in this franchise and opened to an impressive opening weekend of $40 Million at the box office, marking it as one of its three-best opening weekends ever and grossing an estimated total worldwide gross of $178,049620; the most popular spoof was of War of the Worlds; other hits spoof include Saw, Village and Grudge as well. Furthermore, Scary Movie 4 wraps up its story arc from its initial installment while simultaneously marking one last appearance by many members of its initial cast members!

Scary Movie 5 (2013)

Scary Movie 5 is that the fifth and final film of the franchise. it’s the sole film within the series to not feature Anna Faris and Regina Hall. The film was panned by critics and fans alike, and grossed $72,992,798 worldwide at the box office, thus being the smallest amount successful film within the franchise.

Jody (Ashley Tisdale) and Dan Sanders (Simon Rex) enter a replacement home after adopting three mysterious children. There are video cameras to record the events, and Jody and Dan soon discover that a strong creature referred to as “Mama” is haunting them, trying to say their newly adopted children.
